How do you like to talk about boundaries and expectations?
Ask whether the conversation is welcome
A match is a chance to talk, not permission to start a sexual conversation. Ask first: “Would you be comfortable talking about what closeness means to each of us?” A yes to that question still leaves either person free to skip a topic or stop.
If the answer is no or not yet, respect it. There is no required date number or message count for discussing intimacy. The useful timing is when both people want the conversation.
Talk about your own expectations
Start with what matters to you rather than asking someone to prove they are compatible. “I value everyday affection” or “I prefer taking physical intimacy slowly” can be clearer than a long checklist. Leave room for the other person’s answer.
A difference is information, not an argument to win. You can explore whether your expectations fit, take time to think, or decide not to continue dating. Neither person needs to promise a frequency or activity to keep the conversation going.
Use a starter in your own words
The examples on this page are starting points. Copy one if it helps, change it to sound like you and choose whether to send it. Nothing on this page reads your private answers or sends a message on your behalf.
Inside Libimatch, a new conversation offers optional, non-intimate opening questions. They are deliberately independent of the questionnaire. Your matches never receive a suggested opener that reveals an intimate answer.
Keep boundaries clear as you get to know each other
“I would rather leave that for another time” is a complete answer. So is “I do not want to continue this conversation.” You can change your mind even if an earlier message sounded enthusiastic.
Your private questionnaire answers help shape future suggestions; they do not replace a conversation or establish consent. If someone pressures you, you can end the match or use the report and block controls.
Good to know.
Must I discuss sex on a first date?
No. You decide what you want to share and when. Ask whether a conversation is welcome and respect a request to leave it for later.
Does a match mean someone wants an intimate conversation?
No. A mutual like opens text chat. It does not establish permission for sexual messages or intimacy.
Are these questions based on my private answers?
No. The examples are generic and optional. Your questionnaire answers are not revealed through suggested messages.
